PCAR is based in Laurel Maryland. If you live near me I'd like the opportunity to provide training. But since I do travel around a great deal, I'd like to take a moment to recognize the shops I patronize and recommend them to you.
The shops listed below have provided reliable services at reasonable prices. The first thing I look for is how a shop treats a customer. If the staff are helpful, honest, and competent, they make it to the list list below.
Many of the manufacturers listed below sell their products through your local dive shop. In some cases special orders might be required.
I encourage you to use your local shops when possible. Most shops extend discounts to their loyal customers. In this difficult economic time, many local shops are struggling to stay in bussiness. Since they are the local source for training, repairs, and fills, it makes sense to support them. If a shop can't or wont carry what you want, then the Internet is a great resource.
The following manufacturers produce high quality dive gear and they stand behind what they sell. I personnaly use equipment from each of them.
OxyCheq - A wide range of high quality technical dive gear
Dive Rite - A senior member of the tech diving community
SCUBA Pro - Excellent Regulators, find a dealer on their website
Apeks - Excellent Regulators, find a dealer on their website
LightMonkey is online and filling the void left by the closures of Salvo and Leviathan. I was there and got a new battery pack for my Salvo 35W HID. See the news section for the story.
