Whispers from Beyond the Veil

April 29th, 2021 - Inquisitor: Book four of the Vault Saga is underway!

The first three books, Crusader, Adorned, and Defiler, have all led up to the fourth book, Inquisitor, where I introduce the Druids.

Crusader introduced the world of the Kingdom of Ashes, where vampires battle each other and their ancient enemies for power and sometimes, just survival.The book was a journey for me and my first struggle to produce a complete novel.

Adorned built on the world defined in Crusader and gave more context to the vampires and the people who hunt them.

Defiler was a great step forward, built from the experience I gained writing its predecessors. In Defiler I introduced werewolves and their lessor cousins the wolfmen. I also introduced the deadly Alchemists, men able to gain supernatural powers from the elixirs they devise, often at the expense of other living creatures, including humans.

The fourth book, Inquisitor, picks up where Defiler ends, with Rachel, Samuel's loyal servant, making her way back to Charleston, West Virginia. Rachel is accompanied by a cruel and terrifying Ravager vampire who seeks revenge on the person who defiled his fellow Ravager. Rachel is justifiably frightened of her Ravager companion, but she is more afraid of failing in her mission for Samuel.
